It's been a long hiatus since my last entry here. Over the nine intervening years, much water has flowed under the bridge, and I’ve even ventured into writing a few other blogs along the way.
The idea of revisiting this space sparkled in my mind recently while reading a post from a trail-running friend on Blogger. It was a pleasant surprise to rediscover this old blog, like bumping into an old friend.
So, what’s changed? The kids, Jupiter and Tsunami, have grown like weeds. Jupiter has stepped into the exciting world of high school, while Tsunami has embarked on the middle school journey. Their lives are now filled with the sweet sounds of band practices, with hockey games sprinkled in for good measure. Our shared love for music and video games has spun many enjoyable afternoons. Lately, we've taken a liking to exploring roadside attractions, reminiscent of our adventure chasing the STL250 cakes around the city years ago.
Professionally, I've nestled into a full-time software developer role, currently engrossed in a slew of intriguing projects. The skill-building during the kids' younger years has paved the way for a fulfilling career that not only keeps the lights on but also allows me to be an involved parent.
Now, onto the elephant in the room. I am navigating the choppy waters of divorce. It's a complex, emotionally draining journey that I won’t delve too deep into at the moment. It's hard, perhaps the hardest ordeal I’ve ever faced. Yet, despite the storm, there's a silver lining. Things are looking up in many ways, both for the kids and me. The longing for the familial structure I grew up with lingers, but the circumstances leading us here were unavoidable.
Amidst the whirlwind of life changes, I realized how much I missed writing. While I’ve penned down thoughts sporadically over the years, the consistency faded. Now, I am thrilled to rekindle this old passion. I look forward to sharing slices of life, musings, and adventures right here, reconnecting with you all, and embarking on new journeys of expression.
I welcome you to share your thoughts, experiences, or just a simple hello in the comments below. Stay tuned for more stories, and thank you for being part of this journey.
