A month or so ago, I saw that there would be a multiple sclerosis benefit run near our house. I thought that since there was a 1/4 mile kids dash, maybe Jupiter would be interested in trying out a race. Upon asking him, he said that he would like to run. I signed myself up for the four mile run (an effort in self-motivation toward getting back in shape) and signed him up for the kids dash. We did a little bit of training leading up to the dash since he had never run one previously. I took him for a run to the high school and back about a week ago, which is a bit over 1/4 mile. A few nights ago, I was trying to encourage him to go for a run with me again. He told me it was too dark out. I told him we have a treadmill. He was excited about the treadmill before he tried it, but I think he realized that it can be hard work too. He did go a whole 1/4 mile though. The dash started at the local aquatic center and went around the building which was about like running around a typical residenti

Today Jupiter, Tsunami, and I went to the Missouri Botanical Garden with the membership that we received from Antijen and Uncle Tom for the holiday. I asked Jupiter to choose between going back for another round at the Sculpture Park or the garden. When he choose the garden, I was skeptical that we would have any fun and tried to convince him to go to Sculpture Park again since it is January and I suspected nothing much would be in bloom, but I think he actually had the right idea. The Missouri Botanical Garden was actually much bigger than I had thought from looking at it from the outside. I had been there before to go in the Climatron, but there was still much to see outside even though flowers are not in bloom. Lots of interesting trees and other plants, plenty of peaceful walking paths, and flowing creeks were all over the place. Jupiter had to make sure to try out a bunch of rocks that were just off the path to see which ones were good for sitting and which ones were not. Tsunam

Today my hair smells like watermelon. It is not because I got into a food fight in the produce section. No, that is still on my bucket list. It is because my shampoo is packed in a box somewhere and the only shampoo I could find belongs to my two year old. We are packed up and ready to load up the rental truck and drive it from Lincoln, Nebraska to St. Louis, Missouri. The family finally ready to make the move. It is about time. We have been talking about it for almost two years. Jupiter was surprisingly helpful when packing. He was eager to help me pack up the kitchen which was by far the biggest headache in my packing yesterday. He also packed himself in a couple of boxes, but we let him out eventually. Tsunami was also pretty helpful in that he remained mostly quite and sleeping while we were packing. We can not ask for much more than that from him. Today we load the truck. Tomorrow we hit the road and unload when we arrive. I am excited for some new scenery with some new experience
