In the car, in the air, get your ultrasound anywhere!
From the Mobisante website:
I could see this being a handy device for in-home doctors, midwives, and physicians who work in third world countries. It also seems like it it much less costly ($7,495 according to GeekWire) than the traditional ultrasound system (up to $100,000) you see in the typical OB/GYN office. I would guess that comes with a bit of a less feature rich experience as well, but that is an understandable tradeoff for what I would expect to be it's initial use as a secondary solution to the in office ultrasound.
I think the product is cool. It is not surprising that it exists seeing that technology is constantly getting smaller and more portable, and I am always intrigued by the evolving medical device market.
